Fellowship Buster: Isloation – March 2025

Our vision for 2025 is complete fellowship. In a recent sermon, Pastor Dan shared fellowship busters. One of them was isolation.

We live in a self-sufficient society. And, quite frankly, we like our independence. We don’t want to depend on others. We feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, maybe even a little ashamed, when we do have a need. It’s shocking, polarizing. But it doesn’t have to be isolating.

Over Labor Day 2024, Nancy Shrader suffered a compound fracture, shattering two bones in her left elbow which required major surgery, putting her in an unsolicited season of isolation.

I asked Nancy to share how GFC busted the fellowship buster. She shared, “GFC folks rallied around me (and Mike), and provided the support, encouragement, and fellowship I needed while I was at home recovering. Each prayer, meal, card, call, visit and more was an act of fellowship.”

She concluded, “All of us can reverse isolation for others by being there to help — such as was the case for me. My initial sense of isolation was replaced by positive acts of fellowship. Thank you GFC!”  Lisa Allen
